It was Manhattan's largest Dogfighting ring.
It was what can be known as a 'Professional' Dogfighting ring. It's members were careful, selective. They trained and bred their own dogs privately, then pit them against others. Perhaps if they took a liking to a dog they saw fight, they would request a breeding to the dog with one of their own, to better the lines and add fresh blood. Some might even offer to buy the dog.
Bets were waged, auctions were held, breeding was arranged. Perhaps if not for the violent side, these animals would've been held akin to show dogs. However, once in the ring, it was savage. There were different levels, based by experience, and based by the violence that would occur; and groups by size and breed. Within the groups, the dogs were matched at random, and when they're time came, they had but one goal.
That was until the raid.
Law enforcement found out about The Johnson Ring, and after careful planning, errupted into the fighting. They'd never expected the size to be so great, and came poorly prepared. All hell broke loose -- people fleeing, fighting, trying to escape. Animal control had their hands full; prying dogs off eachother, and trying to contain any that might escape. In the end, an uncountable number of people were arrested, and began to rat out their fellow Dogfighters.
In the chaos, however, a number of dogs escaped. They were aggressive and powerful. Most couldn't be caught in the out of control situation. The exact number wasn't known.
Now, these escaped Fighting Dogs are loose in Manhattan, New York City.
They've formed a pack, and tensions run high amongst them.
They're a danger to the community, and to the local strays.
Welcome to Bellicosity.
